Desde há cerca de 425.000 anos, a Terra tem passado por várias eras glaciais, ao todo foram quatro. As eras glaciais são caracterizadas por terem períodos breves de aquecimento. Neste momento, o Planeta Terra está a passar por um desses períodos quentes.
Após estudos meteorológicos, comprovou-se que a temperatura global durante este século tende a aumentar.
E então? Perguntam vocês. Só porque o Mundo está a aquecer, porque havemos de nos preocupar?
Pois bem, em zonas do Planeta com climas frios, um aumento das temperaturas seria uma coisa boa, mas o Aquecimento Global também tem o seu lado negativo:
-Mudanças no nível do mar;
-Secas;
-Derretimento dos Glaciares;
-Mudanças na espessura do gelo, entre outras.
Ou seja, o Aquecimento Global é nada mais nada menos que uma época quente, influenciada pela acção do Homem (por isso é que, mais rapidamente, temperaturas elevadas estão a ser atingidas), o que nos trará sérios e graves problemas.

Currently, the Earth is going through one of these warm periods. After meteorological studies, it has been proved that the global temperature during this century tends to increase. So what? You may ask. Just because the world is warming, should we concern? Well, in some places of the planet with cold climates, an increase of temperatures would be a good thing, but Global Warming also has its negative side:
-Changes in the sea level;
-Drought;
-Melting of glaciers;
-Changes in the thickness of the ice, among others.
That is, the Global Warming is nothing less than a hot season, influenced by human action (that is why, faster, high temperatures are being reached), which will bring serious and severe problems.
